The stained-glass course invites anyone who is looking for a creative way to relax or would like to try their hand as a stained-glass artist. Manual work is a perfect relaxation and escape from everyday problems, and the joy of making a beautiful object with one’s own hands is a unique feeling. 

Participation in the two-day workshop allows you to make your own stained glass piece from scratch. During the course we work with projects prepared by the participants, which gives a unique opportunity to realize your own idea!

We’ve prepared three versions of this course (described below), depending on the complexity of your design. We have:

1. two days courses – in two options: 6 or 10 hours in total
2. four days course with painting

I. Two days courses

The instructors, i.e. our experienced craftsmen, guide the participants step by step through the entire process of creating stained glass, taking an individual approach to each person and their needs.

The course programme includes:

a) design preparation*,
b) making tracing paper and templates
c) cutting and grinding of glass
d) framing a stained glass piece using the Tiffany method

The piece created in this way will be a unique decoration of your home for many years and, who knows, maybe even the beginning of a new passion. Come and try! 

Duration	2 days of classes, 6 or 10 hours in total

The workshop price includes:

• a visit to the museum and the studio in the chosen language (45 min.)
• coffee break
• making a stained-glass window with your own hands under the supervision of our masters (6 or 10 hours)
• all materials needed to make a stained glass window
• protective aprons and glasses
• the completed object and its safe packaging 

Please note: the course is intended for adults and teenagers aged 16 and over.

*What can be made during the classes?

Version 1: Project size A5, max. 10 glass elements with straight lines
Version 2: Project size A5, max 20 glass elements, possible curve and complicated lines

It is necessary to consult (by email or in person) with the tutor before the first class in order to agree on the shape, size and look of the performed design. All limitations are due to the specificity of the traditional technique and our concern for the satisfaction of participants.

II. Four days course with painting

The stained-glass course invites ambitious hobbyists, who want to try their hand arm in arm with professional artists – stained glass masters. For this unique course you can propose any design of your choice, e.g. your favorite painting or poster. Please send us your design at least two weeks before your course. Our art director (with 25 years of experience in creating unique stained glass art) will personally oversee its development, so that it can be done in four days. Most of the projects require the use of painting techniques, which will make them even more unique and close to the original dream design.

Our experienced craftsmen will guide you  step by step through the entire process of creating stained glass, taking an individual approach to your needs and preferences. The patinating process will be overlooked by our art director.

The course programme includes:
a) design preparation- the draft will be prepared up front, according to the participant’s preference
b) making tracing paper and templates
c) cutting and grinding of glass
d) applying layers of patina where it is required by the project (each layer must be fixed / fired in our professional kiln overnight)
e) framing a stained glass window using the Tiffany methodf) soldiering

There is a possibility to courier the ready made piece into any location of your choice at the additional charge.
